RUN don’t WALK AWAY from this company. Seriously, hiring Concrete Kid was the worst decision we have ever made as homeowners – and we’ve been homeowners in multiple locations for over 35 years. We were excited to support a local and woman-owned business, their reviews were decent and their proposal looked competitive and sound. But what began as a very friendly and professional relationship devolved into a complete nightmare. We hired Concrete Kid in late June 2025 to demo out our existing asphalt driveway, level the ground, add reinforcement grids, and pour new concrete. From the beginning there were a series of red flags – trouble with the crew, poor planning (no addition of a drain), they ground the concrete with our garage doors wide open and the motors filled with concrete dust and had to be replaced (to their credit, Concrete Kid did acknowledge and cover this cost), did their washout on our lawn, spilled concrete on all the landscaping rocks and garage, and most importantly cracks and discoloration began only 48 hours after the pour was completed. We reached out on the third day sending photos and asking Nicki to return to inspect the issues we were seeing. She never came. Assuring us instead that what we were seeing was a “normal” part of the curing process that would disappear over time. It never did. The last contact we had was a few weeks later with her crew calling us directly to find out if we had paid her yet because they had not yet been paid. At that point we just wrote it off to our own bad decision making and came to terms that we would have to live with the cosmetic problems. UNTIL, after the cold snap of January/February 2026. Once the ice and snow had melted our driveway began to disintegrate. We saw all the round spots of initial discoloration turn to scaling and flaking and more and more cracks began to appear. We called Nicki immediately and she assured us – on the phone, in writing, and eventually in person – not to worry that she would take care of it. She would stand behind her work. No salt had been used on the driveway – even though they tried to say we had caused this problem. Upon inspecting it herself, she was embarrassed and determined it was the quality of the mud. We had other concrete companies come and give their opinions too – most suggested it was the mud or the mix, too much or too little water, or poor execution of the pour itself. She vowed to contact the concrete supplier and craft a plan. For two months she worked with that supplier – BUT it turns out she was accusing the WRONG concrete company. FOR TWO MONTHS. When she finally realized who she actually had purchased the concrete from we were off again with her working with them to craft a plan (site visit, testing, remediation) to fix the driveway. For FOUR MORE MONTHS. Never happened. Then radio silence - nothing. I could go on, there are many details we are leaving out. We have been patient but she has given us nothing but excuses – family drama, financial issues, crew and staffing problems, and on and on. We feel like she stole $22K from us, left us with a complete mess, and we have no recourse – she’s not insured, she’s not licensed, and there is no path for us except telling our story to help other people, or small claims court. Don’t make the same mistake we did – don’t hire Concrete Kid. One image is what was posted to Concrete Kid social media the day of the pour; the rest of the images are a combination of how it looked three days after the pour and how it looks now.

We had a great experience with Concrete Kid, we talked over the project, got a clear quote, good advice on the details, they came when they said they would and did a good job. They even threw in some extras like delivering and compacting gravel outside of the slab, and removing/replacing our large heavy planters. I appreciated that Nicki was the owner, salesperson, scheduling contact, and project manager on site, so nothing got lost in hand-off to another person. Our driveway is much better now and we're enjoying it every day.

It bums me out to write this because Nicki is a very kind person, but the worst decision I’ve made this year was trusting Concrete Kid to pour my concrete patio. It took multiple months for my project to finally be completed and it’s still decent at best. Great people, but the professionalism and quality of work truly isn’t there. Between the repeated mistakes, the constant excuse making, the crew smoking weed in our yard, the friends peeing in our neighbors yard, the amount of times I heard “we’ll be there tomorrow”, etc. etc. and the list goes on. My patio is already cracking, it’s poorly stamped, it’s improperly graded (water pooling and going toward my house), and has a finish that looks terrible. Again, very nice person, but this is not a professional company. Consider any of the other top rated concrete contractors in the area.
